Function of DP cable

The DP cable is a digital signal line for a high-definition digital display that connects a computer to a monitor, or a computer to a home theater, and supports transmission at high resolution and refresh rates.Usually connected to the DisplayPort interface.

VCOM DisplayPort allows audio and video signals to be transmitted over the same cable, supporting a variety of high-quality digital audio. More can be done on a single cable. In addition to the four main transport channels, DisplayPort provides a powerful secondary channel.

The transmission bandwidth of this auxiliary channel is 1Mbps, and the maximum delay is only 500 seconds. It can be directly used as the transmission channel of low-bandwidth data such as voice and video, and also can be used for game control without delay. Therefore, VCOM DisplayPort can achieve the greatest degree of integration and control of peripheral devices.

Extended information:

DisplayPort is a display interface released by the video electronic standards institute (VESA). As a successor to the DVI, DisplayPort will add support for high-definition audio transmissions along with the video, as well as higher resolution and refresh rates.

It can support single-channel, one-way, four-line connections, data transmission rate 10.8Gbps, enough to transmit uncompressed video and related audio, but also support 1Mbps two-way auxiliary channel for device control, in addition to supporting 8 and 10-bit color. In data transmission, DisplayPort USES the "micro - packetised" format.

VESA also says that DisplayPort is highly scalable and will continue to add new content in the future.
