The USB 4 standard has been released for more than a year, but peripheral support seems to be lacking. According to reports, in the recently released Windows 10 Member Preview Build 19582, Microsoft has started to work on the USB4 driver.
The Implementers Forum (USB-IF) officially released the USB4™; specification on September 3, 2019. The main update is to supplement the existing USB3.2 and USB2.0 architectures to build a new generation of USB. The architecture of USB4™; is based on the Thunderbolt™; protocol specification (contributed by Intel to the USB Promoter Group). The maximum transfer rate is 20Gbps (10G x2) from the original USB3.2, which is doubled to 40Gbps (20G x2). Send multiple data and images at the same time.
